“The best weekend complete with great weather, happy people, and folks interested in my book! Couldn’t have asked for more fun in Tallahassee!”
-me, about the Word of South Festival
Venturing down to Tallahassee was full of excitement for two reasons, 1. Hanging out with my family and 2. Setting up as a vendor at the Word of South Festival. Seeing my family is always fun, so I’ll skip right to the festival. It was held at Cascades park, an area of town which I still can’t find the right words for. Friendly, easy, inviting, fun, open space, free, peaceful, natural (in a way). It’s a great new area of Tallahassee with bridges, ponds, fountains, an outdoor theater, and a few trendy restaurants. It was the perfect spot for the festival.
I met so many nice people; from young kids wanting to pet Piper and Asia, to college students, to recent grads, new parents, old parents, grand parents, and apparently books and music appeal to all ages of people. Who knew? 😉 I was able to sell some books (by the way, if you want to check out my book and see the interior, click here for the Amazon link) which feels very validating as a new author. Throughout both days I had great conversations with people; something I didn’t foresee but is one of my favorite highlights. If I met you at the festival, thanks for chatting with me and I look forward to seeing you again down the road!
Here are a few pics of my booth.
